Corrupted are a Japanese sludge doom metal band, who are known for pioneering the dark, oppressive musical style which has since become a prominent feature of modern funeral doom music. They are known for their obscurity, which includes not only their musical style but their reclusive nature, avoiding interviews and publicity photo shoots. Despite their lack of media exposure they have maintained a highly prolific output throughout their career, including numerous split albums with a diverse collection of artists, and perform regularly in Japan and occasionally abroad.
